They pass and slow to or below your speed. I was taught in driving school that the rule of thumb was you stay one car length away for every 10 miles per hour your going. I rarely see someone following that safe rule. I have about a 30 min drive to work on a freeway that gets really congested. Speed limit is 65-70 depending on where you are and I usually go 80 if I’m cruising on the left lane and the traffic isn’t that bad. I also feel safer in the left lane during high traffic hours because accidents happen all the time and i can swerve into the median when inevitably someone slams on their brakes.

I recently moved from NH to Northern AL for work. Holy fuck the Volleyball world championship 2022 T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this drivers down here are the worst. I’ve never been so triggered driving around. TN drivers are the worst drivers I’ve ever seen in my life , and I’ve lived all over the country. They refuse to move from passing lanes, dosent matter if there’s a god damn fire truck 1 inch off their bumper. Good luck. I’m a senior who moved to be very close to my work place… Just 2 miles away. I usually drive in the left lane 40 mph exactly because that’s the speed limit on those 2 miles. I have to make 2 left turns. To me it’s safer than changing lanes both for myself and for others. Sometimes I will get into the right lane if I see someone approaching from behind at a high speed and I have plenty of time to do it. It’s not really smart of people to speed on those 2 miles because it’s often highly patrolled by police looking to give out speeding tickets.
