I am constantly in the Unicorn Even Unicorns Need Coffee T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this left lane but tbf I am always driving a minimum of 5 over and if someone is behind me I speed up. The only time I move over is if someone is going more than 20 over or if I have to turn off. Also if someone is going slower in front of me I normally just stay behind them cause everytime I have moved to the right I end up going even slower. In large sections of the US, highways only have only two lanes and the right lane is dominated by trucks going beneath the speed limit. The road is also beat to shit by those trucks and full of potholes. So pretty much every passenger car ends up in the left lane. When I drive to a city nearby, I have to change freeways. The exit I take becomes the passing/fast lane because I am merging from the left. Everyone in the middle lane is naturally speeding past me because I have just come off an exit and am ramping up to the correct speed. It is basically impossible for me to get over even with my blinker on because everyone behind me is so focused on moving to the middle lane to pass me. I just want to move to the slow lane but I can’t without risking an accident until I’m mostly clear of traffic OR speeding 20mph over the limit to keep up with the folks trying to pass me. I don’t flat out refuse to move…but I drive a large truck, so it’s safer for me to enter the left lane a few miles before a left turn so that I don’t have to fight my way over at the last minute. If the traffic is light, I stay to the right a bit longer. This is city driving though, and you might be referring to interstate traffic. My truck isn’t fast enough for the left lane on the interstate, so I keep right, or maybe the middle if I’m passing.

I don’t mind moving over but I refuse to keep moving over when I’m already 10 miles over the Unicorn Even Unicorns Need Coffee T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this limit. Kinda ironic to want people to honor the left lane so they can violate the speed limit by 20+ mph. I think its mostly ignorance, its one of our many failures as a species that despite having to be tested befofe being allowed drive you dont actually have to no the road rules. My ex wife always hogged the left lane going exactly the speed limit. For 20 years I implored, begged, pleaded with her to not do this, explaining that it was for passing, dangerous, illegal, etc. Her answer was always, “But I’m going the speed limit.” Even here in Canada people do this. Based on everything I’ve seen while driving I truly believe at least 20% of drivers should never be allowed behind the wheel of anything
