Cruise control cars on hilly stretches of interstate travel faster than the Legend Since September 1979 43rd Birthday 43 Years Old Vintage T-Shirt it is in the first place but 18wheeler they’re trying to pass up hill, but then travel slower than said 18wheeler down hill. So depending on terrain it can take miles for these folks to sort things out. A lot of the time they are driving the speed limit on the fast lane. Those that want to overtake are doing 90 on the freeway. I try to move over but by the time I have room, the asshole riding my ass while I’m going 85mph has already moved into the right lane and I can’t skootch over. Honestly that’s just the lane I wind up in when I get in the zone. I have cruise control but not the new fancy one. After a few trucks going 69 in a 70 I just stop trying to go back to the right lane.

This isn’t about people speeding. Everyone does. It’s about people who stay in the Legend Since September 1979 43rd Birthday 43 Years Old Vintage T-Shirt it is in the first place but left lane when not actively passing when I’m on road trips I set my cruise control on 5 over, ride left lane as constantly swapping back and forth is dangerous too In moderate to heavy traffic, people sometimes road rage on me when I move from the right lane to the left. They think I am cutting them off, because I am only going 10 over the limit, and they want to go 20 over. One of those “no good deeds goes unpunished” situations. I get over to let some of the fastest traffic pass, but now I am not allowed back in when I need to pass? Easier and safer for me to just stay in the fast lane. Stop downvoting the people who actually read and understood the question! This is the first thread I’ve seen where the only way to get the right response is to sort ‘Controversial.’ If you’re starting your comment with ‘They,’ then kindly stfu! Where I’m from, people use both lanes to cruise there’s no passing lane. It’s much better. The biggest problem I’ve seen with the logic for left lane only for passing is that when there’s heavy traffic even if you are going 5-10miles faster than the speed limit there’s people coming up behind you trying to pass you and expect you to move out of the way for them. 99% sure everybody just thinks the left lane is the fast lane people don’t leave that lane they stay in it the whole time. The best state I’ve come across for this was Oregon, especially I-84. If someone drives up behind a slower car in the left lane, the Oregon who is traveling slower almost always immediately moves over to let the faster vehicle pass. Damn I miss that…
